He weighed 131.6 pounds which resulted in direct disqualification.

Though Shakur Stevenson tried his best, he could not make it. It was not intentional, and according to Stevenson, he has remained professional throughout his career. Now, his body’s threshold to make 130 pounds is over.

Giving priority to his health, the 25-year-old announced he moved up in weight class to 135 pounds to continue boxing. Fortunately, the event is saved by making a few changes.

The fight will take place but Stevenson would not be able to retain his titles regardless of winning.

Stevenson’s failure of missing weight captured fans’ attention. They subsequently criticized him on social media.

One fan said, “Bad news for the 135 and 140 because he is coming.”

One fan said, “He wanted to stay at 130 to avoid all the 135 40 pounders. To bad gotta move up and face them now.”
