After months of uncertainty, the undefeated lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is all set for an epic showdown in the United Kingdom. He will defend his WBC heavyweight title against the mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte.
The probability of Anthony Joshua stepping aside to allow Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s battle ended with the purse bid. After the bid, ‘The Gypsy King’ took to Twitter to confirm the news about his next in-ring outing. He wrote, “Big GK is coming home! UK baby!”

The fight between Fury and Whyte was delayed due to a negotiation breakdown earlier. This was because the bidders decided on an 80/20 purse split in the champion’s favor, which Dillian Whyte’s company was not in favor of. Therefore, a purse bid was announced.

Finally, Fury’s promoter Frank Warren, who runs Queensberry Promotions, won the purse bid of $41 million along with Top Rank’s Bob Arum.
