Tyson Fury is now the best heavyweight in the eyes of the fans. He went out this past weekend, shut Deontay Wilder’s lights out in round 11, and retained his title. With the Wilder vs Fury trilogy out of the way, ‘The Gypsy King’ has a lot to look forward to now, including spending some quality time with friends and family.
As for Deontay Wilder, Fury believes this is the end of the line for him. In a post-fight interview, the champ said he expects Wilder to come up with a whole new set of accusations and excuses. Fury concluded by suggesting retirement is the next step for ‘The Bronze Bomber’.

“I’m sure he’ll have a lot of excuses to make. He always does, he’s a sore loser and he has Everlast MX on and I had Paffen Sports on, the gloves were the same.”
“His trainers were in the changing rooms yet again, they checked everything, there’s no queries. He got beat fair and square and that’s all she wrote for Deontay Wilder. And I’ll be surprised if he ever boxes again,” said Tyson Fury.
What’s next for Tyson Fury?
With a second win over Deontay Wilder, the boxing community has labeled Tyson Fury as the greatest heavyweight of this generation. But is he really?
It is important to note that he has secured back-to-back wins, including the recent title defense against a single fighter. However, there are new fishes in the heavyweight ocean- Oleksandr Usyk, Dillian Whyte, Otto Wallin, Anthony Joshua, etc.

With his recent win over Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk is now the unified king of the division. Fans now want Fury to directly jump into the undisputed clash against the Ukrainian.
However, it does not seem like that is currently an option on the table. According to Eddie Hearn, Joshua and Usyk are already set for a rematch in spring 2022.

Prior to Wilder vs Fury 3, the WBC had stated the winner (Fury) would have an option to opt for an undisputed clash against Usyk within 30 days.
The other option forces Fury to face a mandatory challenger; this mandatory opponent will come from the winner of the upcoming bout between Dillian Whyte and Otto Wallin.
