Tyson Fury had shared an intense rivalry with Deontay Wilder, which ended in Fury’s favor with consecutive stoppage wins over the American knockout artist. After going to the distance with Wilder in 2018, Fury snatched the WBC belt in 2020, handing a seventh-round TKO loss to an undefeated Deontay Wilder.

‘The Gypsy King’ then successfully defended his strap against Wilder via 11 round TKO in October 2021, which emerged as one of the classic trilogies of all time in heavyweight boxing. That said, the bad blood between both men seems to have faded. Tyson Fury recently chatted with the iFL TV and expressed his views on Wilder, offering some great words of appraisal.

The current WBC heavyweight champion said, “I don’t have any feelings. I don’t think about him. He [Wilder] is what he is, I respect him as a fighter as you will always have to. And respect him as a man because he didn’t want no step aside money. He wanted his rematch and he got it and if all the boxers were like that, the boxing is gonna be a big, better place.”

Fury seemingly took a dig at the former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua with his statement. A few weeks back, several reports cited Joshua to be considering a step aside deal from his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk. Thus, Fury’s words appeared to be an attack on AJ, who may now have to rematch Usyk at any cost.

Can Tyson Fury now comfortably overpower knockout artists?

Having overpowered Deontay Wilder, Fury can possibly trade shots with any heavyweight. Wilder brought in his puncher’s chance in all three fights against Fury. He could put them on the display, mapping ‘The Gypsy King’ on the canvas several times. But Tyson Fury rose back every single time and offered a lopsided beat down to Wilder.
