Tyson Fury’s Promoter Reveals Why Joshua vs Fury Is Still a ‘Huge’ Fight

The heavyweight world was building up to a Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua bout. However, Oleksandr Usyk’s victory has set the cat among the pigeons. Joshua, who lost to Usyk, has activated his rematch clause. Even if he reclaims his titles, ‘AJ’ will still appear the underdog against Tyson Fury, that is, if ‘The Gypsy King’ beats Deontay Wilder in the trilogy.
Bob Arum has pitched his opinion on the Fury vs Joshua fight. He appeared optimistic about seeing it happen and revealed why it will still be an electrifying contest.
In a chat with IFL TV, Bob Arum said, “Not as much value as he [Anthony Joshua] brought before, but because they are two Brits and everybody has been talking about it. Particularly in the UK. Joshua against Fury. Should Fury beat Wilder and then beat Usyk would be still a huge huge fight.”

Anthony Joshua has expressed his interest in meeting Tyson Fury without the belts. In reality, it seems bizarre as the current heavyweight roster is blooming with big names and mandatory contenders. Apart from Usyk, Dillian Whyte is also a viable name to go for the WBC title. Hence, Anthony Joshua must re-conquer his straps and then target Tyson Fury.

A rematch against Oleksandr Usyk will be electrifying, especially after the shocking outcome in the first leg. However, if Joshua falls short again, it might be the end of all hopes as the interest in a fight between him and ‘The Gypsy King’ may drop.
Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are not far away
The initial plans of the heavyweight title ride look steady. The winner of Wilder vs Fury 3 will have the WBC title and Usyk vs Joshua 2 will finally settle the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO race. Hence, Fury and Joshua are still one-win away from locking horns.

However, WBC mandatory Dillian Whyte can shake the plans with his sudden intervention. He has been out of action for a while and has been aiming for the world title. Thus, the winner of Fury vs Wilder 3 might have to defend the title against ‘The Body Snatcher’.
