Instead of boosting morale, a twenty-second clip of Deontay Wilder training on pads with Malik King Scott seems to have plunged fans into a pall of gloom. Though everyone’s near-unanimous about his strength, most appeared unhappy with his ring movement. Some even spoke about his inability to sustain himself till the final bell. A first-round knockout of Robert Helenius reassured fans that ‘The Bronze Bomber’s’ punches still hammered with devastating power.

It was a comeback fight of sorts for him after two consecutive losses to Tyson Fury. However, bereft of any world titles or belts, Deontay Wilder, who will turn thirty-eight in October, might need big fights to re-establish his legacy. News of a clash with Andy Ruiz Jr. elated fans. But sadly, that update fizzed out. They pin their expectations on a big fight with Anthony Joshua, hopefully by December.

Are fans troubled by Deontay Wilder’s training video?

The clip seems to amuse a user named James Kevin, who believes that Deontay Wilder, in turn, happens to be Tyson Fury’s most preferred punching bag!

Another user named Olasupo Jakes expressed a concern. According to him, Wilder tires out very easily. Either he gets himself knocked out early or gassed out even before the fight reaches the final bell, he lamented.

One user named Taylor King seems worried about another aspect. He wants Wilder to work on his body movement. He would have been an altogether different boxer if he had been trained on shifting across the ring while maintaining proper balance. Sadly, the way he appeared in the clip, it seemed he would fall at any time.

The following user contemplated that sans his power Deontay Wilder would be rendered an average boxer. It is his sheer strength that makes him such a lethal foe. Barring probably Tyson Fury, he pummels almost every opponent. However, truth be told, Wilder is deficient in boxing skills. He often loses the narrative if the fighting strain goes on overdrive. Then he has never displayed an ability to fight on the back foot. Most significantly, he is unable to bob and weave.

The following user believes that if only Deontay Wilder was bereft of ‘chicken legs’, he would have been the most outstanding puncher in the sport.

The comments come on the back of another footage ESNEWS shared a week ago. In a similar fashion, the Instagram Post received a mixed bag of reactions, with a fan even commenting that Wilder should have tried basketball as a sport.
