The upcoming WBC super lightweight title clash between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney is turning into a war fought on multiple fronts. Beyond the physical battle in the ring, the fighters are locked in a war of words, with substance use allegations taking center stage. Garcia’s punches haven’t landed yet, but his verbal jabs have connected. He’s targeted Haney’s father, Bill Haney, with a low blow, referencing a past marred by crime.

These personal attacks led to a heated exchange at their press conference where cannabis use became a contentious topic. Haney, not one to back down, countered by claiming Garcia reeked of alcohol during their face-off. To add fuel to the fire, Garcia himself confessed to being high on a live chat, raising questions about his dedication towards the fight. This made Haney question Garcia’s seriousness about the fight. Now, he’s slammed Garcia for bringing out his father’s prison time in the past.

Ryan Garcia found a comment on Instagram that listed out the prison timeline of Haney’s father. So, Garcia took a screenshot and uploaded it on his X space. Garcia asked about the new feature of X, that differentiates the fake narrative from what’s actual news. He wrote, “Is this true community notes??” The screenshot suggested that Bill Haney was imprisoned in 1982 for 4 years on the charges of mail theft.

A decade later in 1992, he was jailed once again, it was due to the reason of distributing 2k’s of coc*ine. So, the fan stated that Garcia’s parents never went to prison and this doesn’t seem to be “POSITIVE DAD LIKE BEHAVIOR.” Well, this didn’t sit well with ‘The Dream’, he wrote in response, “N*** u should work for the FBI ! U talking bout somebody that was convicted of crimes & served time for square a*s n***! He got out & did the right thing & is creating an examples for the ppl that went down the same!
