Vergil Ortiz Jr. Feels Ready for Terence Crawford: ‘This is What I Want’

The undefeated Vergil Ortiz Jr. seems ready to hunt the bigger names of the welterweight division, as he sent a shock wave through the unit with a 16-fight win streak.
In less than 5 years of his pro career, Ortiz Jr. has already laid his hands on the WBA (Gold) welterweight titles and is one of the finest youngsters on the roster.
That said, he isn’t the only undefeated prodigy in the division. Akin to him, Terence Crawford is another unbeaten titleholder, who boasts of a record of 37-0 with the WBO strap.

So, posing Ortiz against ‘Bud’ at this stage might not be a smart decision. However, Vergil Ortiz Jr. claims to be ready for the challenge.
While Terence Crawford is yet to find a relevant opponent, Ortiz Jr. has offered himself into the mix. He connected with Fight hub TV and opened up on the plans.
“If I beat Hooker and if they were to offer me the fight right after the Hooker fight then I will take it. If they offered to like, you don’t have another hard fight and then Crawford? I would probably still play Crawford. This is what I have been fighting for. This is what I want,” told Vergil Ortiz Jr.

Meanwhile, Terence Crawford has a number of options. Following a legendary career at 147 lbs, ‘Bud’ still has a lot more time. It gets even interesting as Crawford has sighted some serious fights ahead.
And we can see him return to action soon. While Vergil Ortiz is clearly an option, there are a number of names to pick from.

After a successful title defense against Kell Brook, Crawford was touted to face Errol Spence Jr. in a major title unification fight. But the fight is nowhere close to meeting fruition. However, that hasn’t reduced his options.
