‘Tank’ followed the same protocol in the second round as well, but Romero landed a strong jab and brought about a change in Davis’ game plan. The fight slowly picked up in the third round, with both boxers equally trading blows.

Romero was able to land a few body shots on Davis at the beginning of the sixth round. However, the WBA (Regular) champion finally seemed to have figured out Romero’s pace and style.

When ‘Rolly’ lunged in at Davis for a right hook, the champion was able to land a perfectly placed left blow that sent Romero to the ground. The challenger tried to stand back up, but the referee stopped the fight after noticing that his legs were shaky.
