Jake Paul had a mammoth 2021, and he has his eyes set on making 2022 even better. This year, the YouTuber turned boxer will look to compete with some pro-boxers. Talking about pro-boxers, one name that’s been on Paul’s list is the p4p king, Canelo Alvarez.

‘The Problem Child’ isn’t in a hurry to confront Canelo, nor does he wish to face him this year. But this seems like an ultimate fight for Paul, and he wants it badly at some point in the future.

Speaking to FightHype recently, the 25-year-old opened up on fighting Canelo.

He said, “Boxing’s my life and Canelo’s whole thing is no boxing, no life. And even though I want to fight him, I tend to agree with them.”

On a question regarding if he can get a fight with Canelo, Paul added, “100 percent. Maybe not right now, but in three years, it could happen for sure.”

“He’s already talked about moving to cruiserweight, so there’s really no excuse and we can meet up at cruiserweight. And three years from now, I can get the job done.”

While Hearn stood right beside Paul, he had an unusual reaction to his comments and a little smile on his face when Paul said he can “get the job done”.

This isn’t the first time ‘The Problem Child’ detailed his wish to fight Canelo. In 2021, Paul expressed his keenness to test his skills against the Mexican boxing star. He also spoke about the p4p king’s move to cruiserweight, which eventually is Jake Paul’s favored weight class.

But, Eddie Hearn confirmed about this fight not happening in May. Since then, Canelo is in the line to face Jermall Charlo or any other name.

Citing that, Canelo’s fight with Jake Paul doesn’t seem likely at this point or in the future. Alvarez is in a league of his own, and he’s chasing greatness over anything.
