On his podcast Hotboxin’, Tyson and guest comedian Bill Bellamy were discussing the time when the movie was based. Bellamy stated that the movie rightly depicted drug usage among elite Wall Street people at the time. “That was what based on that was based on the 80s right,” said Bellamy. “The 90s,” Tyson responded.” “They were doing quaaludes like they were chicklets,” Bellamy added.
This was not all, as ‘Iron Mike’ then made a fist and hit his chest mimicking McConaughey’s rhythmic chant from the movie. “Knowing the guy that first made the boom boom,” he added. This chant became popular after the movie’s release, with even sports teams using it as a relaxation tool.

“Hey, you know who I spent some time with in Saudi Arabia? Fu*king, The Wolf of Wall Street what was the name Belford? Man listen I was hanging out with this. He was only this big and um I’m saying listen did you see the part when they was in the boat. I said don’t tell me that you really had it. You see that part holy sh*t you didn’t see that did you. These mothef**kers. I’m not gonna die sober. The guys kept getting shocked. Johan Hill kept getting shocked trying to get the cradle,” said Tyson.
While Tyson has seen his fair share of drug use in the past, this was a step above even for him. This might be the reason why the former champion relates to the movie and even had the chance to meet the man it was all based on.
