“Won’t Do This for a Million Dollars”: Tim Tszyu and Sebastian Fundora’s “Blood Bath” Sparks Wild Reactions With Fans

What should have been a regular day in the office for Tim Tszyu and Sebastian Fundora turned into one of the bloodiest battles last night. The super welterweight duo went toe-to-toe at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada. Going into the fight, Tszyu was predicted to win effortlessly, but at the end of the day, one elbow from Fundora changed the whole game.

While ‘The Towering Inferno’ didn’t mean to elbow Tszyu, the unfortunate incident opened up a cut on Tszyu’s head, resulting in a bloody ordeal. At the onset, Tszyu was leading the first two rounds, but blood covering his face made things difficult. Despite that, the fight went the distance as Fundora was awarded a split decision win. So, reacting to the 12-round-long carnage, fans voiced their opinion on social media. 

The fight turned ugly way ahead of the final bell

Turning to X (formerly Twitter), talkSport editor Michael Benson shared an image of Fundora and Tszyu side by side, showcasing the carnage that befell the boxers by the end of the fifth round. Benson wrote, “Tim Tszyu and Sebastian Fundora after just five rounds of their bloodbath fight…”

It’s worth mentioning that after the fight, Tszyu suggested that he thought the fight was going to be stopped. However, ‘The Soal Taker’ revealed that he was able to function purely based on instinct. Moreover, seeing how the mid-fight injury could have put Tszyu at a disadvantage, worse threatened his life, fans didn’t hold back from leaving some of the wildest responses.

Fan advises Tim Tszyu to hire a new cutman

Despite the brutality involved in the sport, such fights are rare. So, when it did happen, the tweet from Benson immediately went viral among boxing fans. One user strongly advised Tim Tszyu about hiring a new cut man, implying his current employee didn’t do a good job. However, it’s vital to remember that even though a cut man can help stop the bleeding, that doesn’t always work, especially when the damage is severe. 

Another user condemned the officials for letting the fight continue despite Tszyu being at a disadvantage due to heavy bleeding. 

Meanwhile, this user was so frightened by the bloody fight that they claimed that no one could pay him enough to fight like that.

While everyone seemed worried about Tszyu, this user praised the promoters of the fight, PBC, for organizing the clash.

The next user thought the decision was a robbery despite Tszyu’s bloodied state. He advocated for a rematch between Tszyu and Fundora, rather than the winner fighting Errol Spence Jr

Tim Tszyu might not have lost the fight last night, but he took over the hearts of every boxing fan through his fighting spirit. While it’s unclear whether he would pursue a rematch, nobody can deny that if not for that cut, Tszyu could very well have taken home the victory. Do you think there should be a rematch?
