Gervonta Davis, now Abdul Wahid having converted to Islam, is finally returning this year to face an undefeated lightweight boxer. In October last year, the head of Manny Pacquiao’s MP Promotions Sean Gibbons informed the media that PBC and Al Haymon were trying to stage a rematch between Isaac Cruz and Gervonta Davis. However, Cruz ended up signing a deal with Rolly Romero.

Meanwhile, Devin Haney pursued ‘Tank’. In fact, Haney’s father Bill Haney took to Instagram and revealed that they offered Davis $20 Million to face ‘The Dream’. However, Davis turned down Devin. As per the latest updates, the WBA Lightweight champion will face Frank Martin in his comeback fight.

Taking to X, Mike Coppinger from ESPN announced that Gervonta Davis and Frank Martin agreed to a deal for a PBC-PPV fight with Davis’ WBA Lightweight title on the line. In addition, Coppinger informed the public that Davis vs. Martin could take place in either late spring or early summer. According to Coppinger, since Davis’ “legal trouble” has “sidelined,” the 29-year-old is back and training for the Martin fight. On the other hand, as soon as Coppinger made the announcement, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons got excited.

As soon as Coppinger tweeted the news,  Parsons hoped Martin would bear Davis down for Dallas. “Boxing fans!! We back!! This major asf!! Frank gotta put on for Dallas!” wrote Parsons on X. In this context, since Parsons is confident about Martin’s abilities, we shall take a look at Martin’s professional record.

I feel combat sport is a representation of life inside a cage or ring. There is fear, struggle, and the will to be free. It has a poetic quality.
