Sports people are constantly on the lookout to branch out their potential in various sports portfolios. One such sportsperson is Oleksandr Usyk. The Heavyweight boxer is not just proficient in the ring but also the soccer field. This news is not a recent development. But rather a follow-up on the time back in 2022 when he was first seen on the soccer field. The visuals of him on the field come amidst him grappling with his recent bout collapsing.
His fight with Tyson Fury has fallen flat. After having a series of constant negotiations, the fight seems to not be happening. Instead, Fury will be fighting Francis Ngannou in October. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian fighter, Usyk will be going against Daniel Dubois in August. ‘The Cat’, Usyk has inked a one-year contract with the Ukrainian Premier League Team, FC Polissya. Earlier in 2022, he joined the field during a match for the team, thereby marking his debut in the sport. He played for a good 15 minutes during the Ukrainian 2022 Winter Cup as the right winger.
Oleksandr Usyk has now officially signed for Ukrainian Premier League football team FC Polissya on a one-year pro contract. However, his contract with the team will not disrupt his boxing career, and he can continue to defend his titles while playing for the new team. The unified WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO Heavyweight world champion will be on attack for the team and will wear the jersey with the number 17.

Ahead of a fight with Dubois, Usyk takes shots at McGregor
Oleksandr Usyk made fun of Conor McGregor for apparently having put on some weight. ‘The Notorious’ Conor was last seen in the UFC ring in 2021 and has since gained some weight. He used to compete at 155 pounds but seems to not be at that weight mark anymore.
In an interview with SecondsOut, the Ukrainian fighter challenged Conor to a matchup. When asked to comment on the upcoming match between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou, Usyk took a segway into fighting McGregor. He said, “I saw that Conor McGregor put significant weight. Hey Conor, why don’t we make a fight at Wembley.” However, ‘The Notorious’ is set to take on Michael Chandler at the end of The Ultimate Fighter season. Further, it is also reported that he might not be able to return this year.
