During a recent interview, Molly openly discussed the difficulties she faced during her childhood, such as her mother’s addiction issues. Nevertheless, her mother was able to triumph over her addiction, acquire qualifications, and transform her life, serving as a source of inspiration for Molly.

Molly showed incredible spirit as she candidly shared details about so many things about her previous struggles and hardships, that it moved anyone watching. In fact, it even left boxing champion Skye Nicolson feeling moved. Nicolson shared the video on her Instagram, and complimenting the fighter.

Skye Brittany Nicolson, an Australian professional boxer, has made quite a name for herself in the sport. She earned a gold medal in the featherweight division at the Commonwealth Games in 2018 while still an amateur. Nicolson currently boasts an impressive undefeated record of 6-0 and recently secured another victory against Tania Alvarez. Her skill and determination make her a formidable opponent in the ring, and she is undoubtedly one to watch in the boxing world.

She recently praised Molly McCann, for being honest, vulnerable, and open to the world about her problems. In the Instagram story, she shared the promo clip of the recent interview Molly did. In the caption, she wrote, “One of the realest people I know”. Undoubtedly, Molly’s story serves as a great motivation not just for women, but everyone in the world.

Molly McCann takes us deep into her mindset

Molly McCann, a 32-year-old MMA fighter, recently opened up about her turbulent childhood. She also shared her struggles with addiction on the High-Performance podcast. She shared how she often felt inadequate despite her undeniable physical abilities. McCann said, “I am too fast, I am too strong, I am too f’ing good, why was I never good enough?

 

McCann also described the persona she adopts during fights, explaining, “The ‘meatball’ is a person that you see at the weigh-ins, feeds from the crowd, fights for the crowd, fights for the person, fights for the underdog, fights for everyone.” The challenges inside the ring pale in comparison to those she’s had to overcome in her personal life.

“When I am in the cage, getting hit and outmaneuvered is nothing compared to the life I ‘ve had to overcome,” she said.

Reflecting on her journey with MMA, McCann acknowledged the sport’s role in both saving and nearly destroying her. Nevertheless, she remains committed to doing what she needs to do to be the best version of herself.

“As long as I do what I am supposed to do, I will be the best me and the best Molly McCann beats anyone on any given day”. she said.
