Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor has not competed in professional combat sports since 2021 after his loss to Dustin Poirier. Despite this, the Irishman has hinted that he might soon be returning to the ring, whether it be the Octagon or the ring. However, it looks like ‘The Notorious’ has lost a few steps since retiring from combat sports.

McGregor was recently seen in a sparring session with a young amateur boxer in a rugged gym somewhere in Ireland. Moreover, the session was only limited to boxing and not under the MMA ruleset which would turn out horribly wrong for McGregor.

In the training session, the former champion struggled to cover the distance. This was because his opponent was much taller than him. However, he was starting to get under the boxer’s range and danced around for about a minute or so. Despite all this McGregor failed to calculate how to reach in under his defense and was met with three quick jabs that sent him to the mat.

McGregor is recovering from an injury after breaking his leg against Poirier but claimed he would make his return in 2023. In addition, he revealed that he would fight multiple times in 2023 and give fans the fights they want.

While he is confident he will compete in multiple fights in 2023, this might not be likely. McGregor is currently outside the USADA testing pool and would need to re-enter it before making a return. However, his current physique brings out many questions on whether he could pass the testing and get valued for action multiple times this year.
