If there is one thing that Canelo Alvarez vs. Dmitry Bivol has taught, then it is the fact that size matters in a fight. No wonder Alvarez and Bivol were both exceptional and world-class athletes with each possessing an exceptional ring IQ. Indeed, Alvarez entered the bout with a professional record of 57-1-2, and with a history with individuals such as Gennady Golovkin, Miguel Cotto, Amir Khan, Caleb Plant and Floyd Mayweather. Despite having such a commendable resume, Alvarez was outclassed and outperformed by Bivol.

In the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, host Joe Rogan sat with Chris Williamson. At one point in their conversation, Williamson addressed Jake Paul, calling out Alvarez. To which, the following is what Rogan replied:

“That’s hilarious. That’s a death sentence.”

According to Rogan, Jake Paul calling out Canelo Alvarez is not only ludicrous but also a death wish of one kind. However, considering Jake Paul’s size and weight, here’s what the UFC commentator added.

Of course, Jake Paul is far from being half the fighter Alvarez is. But still, given how Alvarez struggled at 175lbs against Bivol, Rogan thinks Paul, weighing at 200lbs, can snatch a particular edge over Saul. Therefore, Rogan added, “But also, Jake Paul’s 200lbs. Canelo Alvarez really should have never fought at 175lbs, which is when he fought Dmitry Bivol.” 

“He lost a title at 175 cause Bivol is an elite, legit world champion at 175. A lot of people feel like that’s why he (Alvarez) avoided the rematch with Bivol. And he’s going down to super-middleweight to GGG because if he fought against Bivol, Bivol would have his (Alvarez) number. Bivol had him in real trouble when he had him up against the ropes and he was observing punches.”
