The United States Anti-Doping Agency stated that athletes using cannabis or Spice during competitions put themselves and others at risk due to heightened risk-taking behavior, slower reaction times, and impaired decision-making abilities.
In addition to the previously mentioned points, marijuana has been cited as a substance used to conceal performance-enhancing drugs, owing to its diuretic properties. According to ESPN, His previously recorded victory over Nahir Albright on Oct. 14 has been nullified, and he is set to return to the ring in mid-January. Davis, who was slated for a fight with former champion Jose Pedraza on Dec. 9, might reschedule the match for early 2024, as confirmed by Top Rank Boxing. Notably, marijuana is legal in 23 states and is not on the banned substance list in the UFC, NBA, MLB, or NHL, but it remains prohibited by the NFL.
