Andy Ruiz gives his brutally honest take on Terence Crawford vs. Canelo Alvarez

According to Ruiz, Crawford has immense talent and does not disregard his skill sets. He considers ‘Bud,’ to be a great fighter and arguably one of the most notable names in the sport. However, he does not fancy the chances of him against the likes of Alvarez because of their weight disparity. The Mexican boxer sends a stern warning to Crawford to refrain from fighting Alvarez and continue his reign against formidable opponents in his own weight class.

Reflecting on the same, in an interview with Fight Hub TV, he stated, “I think Crawford could be the best in the world in those divisions, but I think he should stay away from Canelo right now. Let Canelo do this thing. For sure, Crawford is gonna be the face of boxing.”

The former heavyweight champion is opposed to the match-up itself. But if the bout does take place, we know who Ruiz would place his money on. However, a former rival of Crawford has a different opinion than Ruiz Jr.

Former rival weighs in on Crawford fighting Canelo

Former champion and previous opponent of Crawford, Shawn Porter made headlines in the boxing world over his prediction for Crawford vs. Canelo. Despite the general narrative of Alvarez being bigger, Porter predicts a victory for his former rival. He stated, “If Terence wants to do it, he will do it. And if Terence wants to do it, he knows he can do it. I will actually bet on Terence Crawford for that fight.”
