Beckham asked Sabrina, “How was it learning from him though, being able to see him at that age, could you see how special it was?”. Ionescu exclaimed, “Yeah, he was my favorite.” She even treated all the viewers and listeners with an adorable fan-girl moment. She further stated, “There’s a picture of me at age 10 years old like leaning against the railing trying to get a high-five and he touched my hand and I was like oh my gosh!”

It was “Siblings Day” and the year was 2020. Sabrina was the top draft pick of the WNBA, and while being interviewed, she stated that she sees Curry almost like a big brother. Looks like she got insane shooting skills after he touched her hand when she was just a kid on the railing.
From watching Curry from her courtside seats to being mentored by him and now taking up Chef Curry in the All-Star 3-point shooting contest, it’s safe to say that young Sabrina is genuinely living out her childhood dream along with countless others. Both 3-point sharpshooters have jaw-dropping stats, creating history ever since they stepped on the court.

From beyond the arc, Curry boasts a career average of 42.6%, 3.9 shots per game across 922 appearances. However, Sabrina, isn’t far behind, shooting at 37.7% in her 105 games so far, averaging 2.6 attempts per make. While Curry holds the edge in experience and overall volume, Sabrina’s game keeps stepping up, making her an ideal contender against the NBA veteran.
In 2023, Sabrina sent shockwaves through the league, for her record-breaking 37 points out of a maximum 40 in the 3-point contest, beating even her “brother’s” previous record of 31. But that’s not all! She not only claimed the single greatest 3-point contest performance ever, but also inked her name in WNBA history with the best shooting season ever recorded. Now, the stage is set for an epic showdown.
