Kevin Durant & Devin Booker Vent Out Frustration At Suns’ “Unacceptable” Upset Vs Spurs

Frank Vogel resonated what even a casual fan would cite about the Phoenix Suns‘ recent loss to the San Antonio Spurs – “It’s unacceptable to lose that game for our guys“. The Suns, possessing the most talented backcourt in the NBA, faced a Victor Wembanyama-less Spurs. However, the Spurs started hot on offense, putting the clamps on the defensive end throughout the game. As a result, while Devin Booker and Kevin Durant combined for 65 points, the remaining roster scored just 37.
After the game, Durant highlighted on the Suns’ March 23 win over the Spurs. Despite Wemby in the lineup, Suns blew past the Spurs with 131-106. With that, he said, “Shouldn’t lose that game, especially after how we beat them last game.” Moreover, KD highlights that the Spurs prevailed in the latest game through their momentum.

Bradley Beal, in the post-game interview, resonated team’s lackluster approach behind the loss. Beal claimed that they misjudged the matchups to be easy, especially in light of Wembanyama’s absence. However, Devin Booker resonated with a distinct stance. Talking about the loss, Book said, “I’m not into disrespecting opponents. These guys are NBA guys.” With that, Booker asserts a disrupted “flow and lot of overthinking” as the pivotal factors in the game. Moreover, speaking in the much grand scheme, Booker says, “I think everybody is feeling the pressure of end season.”

A win against the Spurs could have propelled the Suns to the 6th spot in the West. However, with 8th spot, they continue to face the toil around losing their the playoff chances. Their current standing forces them to partake in the Play-in, giving other teams a chance to end their season.

While all 10 opponents flaunt a better season record, 5 games pose them against the top-3 teams in their conferences (Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Cleveland Cavaliers, Oklahoma City Thunder). All the teams harbor a combined winning efficiency of 64%.
