Pretty sure when the news broke of the contract secured by “Shotime,” there was pin-drop silence everywhere. A record-breaking 10-year $700 million deal is far more than any athlete in the history of sports has ever landed. So it’s no wonder that even the top athletes can’t refrain from sharing their shock at the unparalleled event. That’s also what prompted Josh Hart to confirm his surprise with a crisp phrase, “Good Lord 10 years $700Ms”.

We can’t blame the 28-year-old. What more can one say in the face of such a ground-breaking circumstance? Eligible for a 4-year $81 million extension himself, the Knicks’ player can only dream of such a situation. But then again, LeBron James makes more with his off-court interests than he makes from the NBA.

Include that in Ohtani’s case and the man will be in a completely different league. According to Forbes, Ohtani earns at least $35 million in endorsements annually. His international recognition has made him a favorite on both sides. So it’s no wonder he most likely has a list of deals in Japan as well as the USA.
That still does not take away the ‘wow’ factor from him. No athlete has ever earned this much in their respective fields. Ever. For the Angels to go this far in acquiring Shohei Ohtani, simply proves his value and what he brings to the table.
With that said, why don’t we get a little closer home and check out the largest contracts in the 2023-24 season NBA?

With so much hype surrounding and the number of articles, it’s a no-brainer that Jaylen Brown tops the list for the largest contract in the NBA. While he landed a $304 million supermax extension in July, it does not kick in until the 2024-25 season.
- Yet, he still tops the list with a value of $288,260,000 and an AAV of $57,652,000.
- The next is the Denver big man, Nikola Jokic, with $276,122,630 and an average of $50,203,930.
- Third place has Bradley Beal’s name all over it. With a value of $251,019,650, he averages $50,203,930.
- Giannis Antetokounmpo is in fourth place with $228,200,420 and an AAV of $45,640,084.
- Finally, we have the number 2 of the Big 3 of the Suns – Devin Booker. A four-year contract value of $222,656,000 and an average of $55,664,000.
