The world of professional wrestling is in mourning. Virgil, a former WWE wrestler, passed away less than a week ago, and after the news broke, several personalities from the world of pro wrestling wanted to pay tribute to the former champion of the Million Dollar Belt.
And one of the many pro wrestlers who wanted to show their condolences is Chris Jericho, who recently made a massive donation for the former WWE veteran.4

The wrestling world was left in shock when the news of Virgil’s death broke out. While the veteran had been out of the squared circle for a long time, it is hard to forget his time in the WWE with Ted Dibiase. And it seems like another wrestling legend, Chris Jericho, too, was a fan of the veteran. According to WrestlingNewsCo, Y2J has donated $5000 for Virgil’s funeral cost.

Upon learning of his passing, one of the first people who wanted to show his condolences was Matt Hardy, who remembered the figure of Virgil as someone who was always kind to him and expressed his sadness upon learning of his passing. Another of those who also wanted to say goodbye is Jake “The Snake” Roberts, who is completely surprised by the death of his friend.

Virgil passed away at the age of 61. The news was reported by the arbitrator Charles III, a friend of Virgil’s family. The cause has not yet been revealed. However, in 2022, Virgil announced the detection of stage two colon cancer in his body and asked fans for monetary support. His last match took place in November 2020, at the standalone event Talk ‘N Shop A Mania 2: Rise of the Torturer, where he took part in a tag team match alongside Heath, Mr. Hughes, The Barbarian, The Karate Man, and The Warlord to defeat Chad 2 Badd and Sex Fergusson. Virgil’s run with Dibiase
Virgil debuted in WWF in 1987 as the assistant to Ted DiBiase, also known as the Million Dollar Man. As part of his character, Virgil wore a pink and gold vest and was always by DiBiase’s side, helping him in his confrontations. After several years as DiBiase’s assistant, Virgil turned against him in a memorable confrontation at the 1991 edition of SummerSlam. This led to a rivalry between the two, with Virgil adopting an independent wrestler persona and challenging DiBiase at several major events.

After leaving WWF in the 1990s, Virgil continued to wrestle in various independent promotions and also made appearances in other wrestling companies, highlighting his contribution to WCW working as a member of the legendary nWo stable.
