The Rock and Roman Reigns are considered two of the best Samoan wrestlers in the pro wrestling industry. However, according to a newly released WWE superstar, someone is even better than them. WWE released Matt Riddle in September as a part of a budget cut. He has now moved on to another wrestling promotion.

Matt Riddle recently had a virtual in-studio signing for Signed by Superstars. It was there that he named Jacob Fatu as the best in the Samoan bloodline. Claiming to have no ill feelings towards anyone from The Bloodline members, he stated he believes the Indie wrestler is better than Reigns and other members of the Anoa’i family.

He said, “I would have to say I love all regardless of storylines, I really do like all the members of The Bloodline, but I have to say and it’s not a knock against any of them, Jacob Fatu, The Samoan Werewolf is probably the best wrestler out of the group.”

The star was singing high praises for his fellow wrestler and was genuinely praising him. Continuing the high praise, Riddle said, “He’s really good; he’s really intense; he’s strong; he’s agile. He can do everything, and yeah, he’s great. Notably, the good words come a few days after his showdown with Fatu.

Riddle’s first match after being released from WWE

Riddle was released in September 2023, but he had his first match after the release in January 2024. It was because all the released stars had to serve a 90-day non-compete clause until December 20, 2023. His first match was against Rock and Reigns’ cousin Fatu in Major League Wrestling (MLW).

On January 6, 2024, he went one-on-one against the Indie wrestler at the Kings of Colosseum event held at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was Riddle’s debut match at MLW, which he won by defeating his opponent via submission.
