Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev is one of the finest, if not the best, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players in the world. Currently, a member of Natus Vincere and formerly a part of Team Liquid, he has been the face behind the success both teams have enjoyed over the years.
Unsurprisingly, a player like s1mple comes with a hefty price tag that not every team can match. Moreover, player buyouts and their salaries are not usually pieces of information available in the public sphere.
The players, too, are bound by a solid contract to keep this inside story confidential. However, in a recent interview with 2POpodcast, s1mple shed light on several interesting things. These included his previous buyout details and the amount of money he made as a player a few years back.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pros revealing their buyout price and salaries is not a common practice
S1mple was in conversation with 2POpodcast along with his brother Alexey Kostylev, who is the Creative Director at Natus Vincere.
A few questions in the interview were aimed at finding out how much an NA team would have to invest in order to sign s1mple. This is when Alexey stepped in to say, “You can pay a lot for someone like s1mple, but there is no such fixed cost attached to him and also we cannot discuss it.”

However, s1mple himself eventually ended up revealing his contract details from the time he was a part of Team Liquid’s roster. He revealed that “the old contract was for a million dollars.”
The conversation also revolved around finding out how much an eSports player earns. S1mples’s brother explained that the salary ranges depending on the organization a player is a part of.
To give more details on this, s1mple stated a personal example.
“Three years ago we had a salary of around $5,000-$7,000, but if we reached the top three, then the salary increases to $15,000 and then it stayed there irrespective of whether or not we fall.”
