Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh said that he got a lot more support under Sourav Ganguly’s captaincy than MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli

Yuvraj Singh is a terrific all-rounder and he has played 304 ODIs, 110 under Ganguly’s captaincy and 104 under 104 Dhoni’s captaincy. However, the cricketer didn’t get to play much in Virat’s team due to health and fitness issues.

He made his debut under Ganguly’s captaincy against Australia in the Champions Trophy in 2000. At different times in his career, Yuvraj has played under various captains like Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Dhoni and Kohli at different times in his career.

In an interview with Sporstar, Yuvraj admitted, “I have played under Sourav and had a lot of support from him. Then Mahi took over. It’s a difficult choice to make between Sourav and Mahi. I have more memories of time under Sourav because of the support he gave me. I didn’t have that kind of support from Mahi and Virat,”

After a 19 year long career, Yuvraj Singh retired from the international cricket last year.

He also had a perfect person in mind to play this role for Virat Kohli’s team. He believes that Paddy Upton is fit for the job. Notably, Paddy served as the mental health and conditioning coach of the Indian cricket team during Gary Kirsten’s coaching tenure.

Yuvraj further added, “Make them better persons. We had Paddy Upton who would discuss other issues of life, like fear of failure, and it helped us so much. The team probably needs someone like him”
