Activision’s team is working hard on improving the experience in Call of Duty Modern Warfare II. While the game has somewhat become better, it’s still far from being amazing according to many players. Hence, all the eyes are now set on this year’s premium installment. Interestingly, it happens to be a sequel of the current game itself.

While most people think that’s a bad thing, it’s actually quite beneficial for the players themselves. Activision just recently revealed a key reason for why players of MWII will have a great time switching to Modern Warfare III. Well, it’s due to a unique feature called ‘Carry Forward’. But what is it and how will it exactly work?

There seems to be a misconception attached to the upcoming installment right now. Maybe it’s due to the long-running rumors about MWIII being a paid DLC expansion. However, Activision hasn’t made any such announcement, in the last year or so. Which implies that the publisher always had plans for a standalone premium release in 2023 instead of giving some sort of additional content as part of the existing entry.

Now speaking of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and what it’s about to offer, there’s actually something good to get hyped for. It’s a newly introduced feature that will ensure seamless transition from the current game to the next. Known as ‘Carry Forward’, it will enable MWII players to access their purchased items and all kinds of unlocked rewards in CoD 2023.

‘Carry Forward’ will enable an impressive integration between Modern Warfare III and its predecessor

In simple words, all the content unlocked or collected in Modern Warfare II and Warzone will be accessible in MWIII. For example, players can keep using a certain Operator skin, weapon, a calling card, or even a complete bundle. Since MWIII is a direct continuation of the existing game, having an option to carry forward the content makes total sense.

This kind of integration is commendable from the side of Activision. There are many players of MWII and Warzone who have already spent a lot of money to get exclusive, paid bundles with attractive Operator skins, weapons, and what not. Had ‘Carry Forward’ not been announced, they would have felt disappointed, for sure. After all, the leisure of enjoying Call of Duty comes with a premium price tag. Sledgehammer’s game will make sure that the money spent on the predecessor won’t be wasted when switching to its sequel.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III comes out on November 10, 2023. It will be available on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X\S, Xbox One, and PC.
