After hosting the recently wrapped, The Streamer Awards 2023, Rachell Hofstetter aka Valkyrae has found a new sense of “respect” for herself. Suffering from anxiety from a young age, Rachell was never very comfortable in a public setting, despite being a public figure. However, after the live event, her perspectives shifted drastically. 

In one of her recent streams, Valkyrae shared her experience during the award show, and how much praise she got after the event ended. Getting appreciation from her peers and fans has birthed an overwhelming sense of self-respect in the 31-year-old streamer’s life. But even in her moments of high, she couldn’t hold her tears. Thinking only if her father was here to see all of this. 

Overwhelmed Valkyrae breaks down on live stream

In a recent casual stream, Valkyrae’s eyes swole up, thinking how “Life feels pretty surreal” for her now. A newfound sense of respect has filled her heart with hope and self, making her overwhelmed with a variety of emotions. “I have never been so proud of myself before. After I did the streamer awards co-hosting, I could feel newfound respect from my peers, I could feel people genuinely respecting me,” said Valkyrae.

“Oh my god, I am gonna cry. Holy cr*p that was crazy! I just felt my eyes swell up,” said an emotionally moved Valkyrae. Although finding this new respect from her peers and from herself and conquering one of her greatest fears made her very happy, there was still a sense of longing in her heart.

“I just want to know what my Dad’s reaction would have been like and I’ll just never know.”  While Val was delighted co-hosting in front of such a large audience, which included her mother, she couldn’t help but wonder what her father would have said after witnessing his daughter’s long journey. 

“I wonder if he like understood,” said Valkyrae, thinking if her father was here, would he be able to understand his daughter’s profession or what she means to millions of people all over the world. In the end, Val said to chat that she is “very very happy” after successfully wrapping the streamer awards and earning the respect for herself.
