Major Nintendo Switch Update for The Witcher 3 Has Finally Made An Awaited Debut on the Handheld Platform

CD Projekt’s crown jewel The Witcher 3 has been out on Nintendo Switch for a while. However, the players had complaints regarding the lack of next gen-updates on the Nintendo console. They were demanding features that were already available on PlayStation and Xbox counterparts. Looks like the devs at CD Projekt Red have finally heard the pleas of the fans.

When version 4.0 of Witcher 3 was released, it brought multiple next-gen updates to PlayStation and Xbox consoles like ray-tracing and many more. However, Nintendo Switch users felt left out in this update. With the release of patch 4.04, the devs have finally brought the next-gen updates to the Nintendo console.

CD Projekt Red recently announced patch 4.04 via their website. In this patch, devs have brought multiple updates for Nintendo Switch like gameplay-based, quality-of-life-based, and online features. Multiple Switch users have publicly praised these modifications. The devs have finally added a cross-progression saving feature to Switch which allows players to continue their journey via any other platform too.

Furthermore, they have also included Chinese and Korean voice-overs. A new appearance for Dandelion and a new Nilfgaardian Armor, both inspired by Netflix’s The Witcher series are also making their way to Nintendo Switch. The Netflix show has also brought in a new side quest In The Eternal Fire’s Shadow for the Switch users.

Switch users will also receive multiple rewards by signing up to My Rewards in-game. My Rewards allows players to obtain rewards such as Swords of the Nine-Tailed Vixen and White Tiger of the West Armour. The devs have made several quality-of-life and gameplay updates in The Witcher 3 players on Nintendo Switch.

Multiple quality-of-life updates included in Switch’s version have been listed below.

  • The minimum height for inflicting injury from a fall is now higher.
  • The joy-cons now include a sprint mode as well as a slow walk mode.
  • An option to swap potions and apply oil, as well as an auto-apply oil option, has been introduced.
  • Several adjustments to the UI and HUD have been made specifically for Switch users.

Furthermore, several gameplay adjustments were made for the Nintendo Switch.

  • The programmers have repaired issues in missions such as Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear, Hard Times, Echoes of the Past, Wine Wars, and From Ofier’s Distant Shores.
  • Fixed an issue with Grandmaster Wolven sets not requiring Mastercrafted items.
  • Multiple bug fixes in quests and cutscenes.
  • A mod by Flash_in_the_flesh that addresses gameplay, as well as minor modifications, has been uploaded.
