Miyamoto was the main engine behind the Mario Bros. arcade, and the duo has been winning hearts for generations. As the game celebrates its four-decade reign, Miyamoto remains an integral part of the celebrations despite not being mentioned by the fans all the time.

A recent Twitter post put up a post with celebratory intentions. And fans didn’t hold back from letting each other know just how fond they are of the game still. Despite being an arcade game, any veteran gamer would put Super Mario Bros. on their list of best games of all time.

“40 years ago today the original MARIO BROS. arcade game by Shigeru Miyamoto and Nintendo was released. The game introduced spinning bonus coins, turtles that flip onto their backs, and Luigi!“, wrote the post. Brittany Gates got emotional and shared his earliest memories of playing the game on an Atari console.
