XBOX CEO Phil Spencer, in an interview with IGN, expressed his interest and support for the E3. But, this does not mean that the company will be featuring its games in the upcoming E3. Xbox will showcase its upcoming ventures through its annual summer showcase. Moreover, the annual showcase will mostly be aligned during the time of E3 2023. So, the chances of Xbox making a surprise entry is highly unlikely.

Nintendo will also follow a similar pattern. They were a dominating figure in E3, but this time they might not even participate in the event at all. Nintendo earlier introduced its own annual showdown, but still were participants in E3. It seems like they too will be sticking to their annual release. The same goes for Sony as well; PlayStation withdrew its participation in 2019 due to disagreements with ESA (Entertainment Software Association). And it seems like Sony is also completely withdrawing from the event.

This is a huge blow for the popular event

This year’s E3 will surely get affected because of the withdrawal of the ‘big 3’. Especially as they all have huge titles up for release this year. These include massive titles like the Horizon Call of the Mountain. Nintendo too has planned a wide array of games for release this year.

People could have looked up to companies like Activision and Bethesda, but the Xbox merger surely will put a nail to those expectations.

Now the two big names people look up to in the upcoming 2023 E3 are EA and Ubisoft. The joy of going to these may also get affected by the fact that the E3 will be live-streamed. Fans can just hope for the best.
