PlayStation Showcase 2023 brought to light several games that will be released later this year. The event saved the best for last. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was the last game showcased during the event. Viewers were given a hint of the gameplay alongside the Kraven trailer. It shows some interesting footage, yet there were interesting details fans missed from the trailer!

The trailer for Spider-Man 2 shows Kraven the Hunter, scouting New York for his next hunt. As he views the map of New York City, the game gives us a first look into who Spider-Man’s allies and enemies are in the game!

The trailer faintly hints at who Spider-Man’s allies are

The last Spider-Man game sees us work with a plethora of characters who help us through our journey in the game. These characters are often explored through the main game story as well as side quests that come up.

During the PlayStation Showcase trailer for Spider-Man 2, viewers spotted many references that revealed some of the allies players will have in the game. The scene pans around to show the map, and several characters are seen, some of which are allies.

The appearance of a character called Wraith is puzzling to fans. This is none other than Yuri Watanabe from the first game! As fans might remember, Yuri went rogue toward the end. Following her character’s story in the comics, Yuri resorts to vigilantism, with Wraith being the end result. Yuri provided aid and intel to Peter during the first game. Her appearance as a vigilante can only mean her presence as an ally!

Apart from Yuri, we also see the Prowler on the map. Aaron “The Prowler” Davis appeared as a character in the Spider-Man Miles Morales expansion. After a fight in the end, Davis took Miles’ advice to his heart and began helping people.

Black Cat also remains a potential ally in the game. After her story expansion from the last game, Black Cat might just make an appearance lending a hand to our friendly neighborhood Spider-Men!

The potential villains revealed in the Trailer

The trailer gave hints at the different villains that will feature in the story. Apart from Dr. Connors as the Lizard, Kraven the Hunter appears to be one of the leading antagonists in the sequel.

The map also goes on to show Taskmaster, Tombstone, Shocker, and one of the most famous Spider-Man villains, Doc Ock. There has been speculation that Black Cat will not be an ally, but one of the villains Spider-Man has to fight! But their on-off relationship has been ongoing for a while, so we can expect some twists and turns.

The trailer and the gameplay created incredible hype for the PlayStation 5 exclusive. With Peter in the Venom suit and Miles becoming capable of his duties as Spider-Man, where will the story go?
