EA Sports UFC 5 is slated to release in the latter half of October this year. While the franchise is pretty popular among fans, the upcoming entry to the series isn’t sitting well with community members. Fans have waited for three years since the last UFC game. Naturally, the hype around the next installment is very high. However, after the recent gameplay trailer release by the devs, fans are complaining that the game doesn’t look as good as it should be.

While EA has put a lot of effort into the making of UFC 5, fans are disappointed with what they’ve seen so far from the trailer. Some fans are of the view that the game doesn’t even look like a new game.

UFC 4 was released in 2020. The MMA fighting game was fairly received by the community who spent a lot of time honing their skills as martial artists. With a range of new features and game modes, UFC 4 was hailed as one of the best fighting games ever made. With that, it was only natural that fans expected something even better with the next entry to the franchise. Before its release, EA Sports recently shared the gameplay trailer for EA Sports UFC 5 on X, but fans aren’t really happy with what they’ve seen.

In the gameplay, the devs highlight new damage mechanics and other features that help to replicate the feel of the real-life octagon. Despite the physics and damage mechanics, some players aren’t happy with the visuals of the upcoming game. Others are not okay with EA for choosing to use MMA legend Conor McGregfor’s infamous leg injury to highlight how limb damage works in UFC5.

While the damage mechanics do seem to be more realistic than the previous UFC games, the visuals could have been better, to be honest. There aren’t a lot of improvements since its predecessor. While EA has yet to make any announcements addressing the issue, fans seem to have their opinions solidified already.

Fans are vocal about their dissatisfaction with EA

Since the trailer was shared yesterday, throngs of fans have come forward making their views about EA Sports UFC 5 clear. This fan, like many of us, has been expecting a significant result after 4 years of development. However, the fan isn’t happy with the movement mechanics at all.

UFC 5 is the first UFC title that is made using the groundbreaking Frostbite Engine. Hence, something jaw-dropping was being looked forward to by the fans. This fan thinks the new engine doesn’t seem to have contributed to anything.

Another user is also of the opinion that EA should take a moment and go back to the designing process. If the visuals of the new game look pretty much like its predecessor, then what’s the point, we ask.

This fan noticed something in the trailer about how downed opponents can grab enemies. Now the fan thinks someone else needs to take over the franchise from EA.
