Kai Cenat is a rising star in the streaming world, who is possibly in the best moment of his life. He even won the ‘Streamer of the Year’ title at the 2022 Streamy Awards. Currently, the 21-year-old is hosting a 30-day subathon called ‘Mafiathon,’ which has been extremely successful for the Twitch streamer. He recently reached 200,000 subscribers during the subathon.

But Cenat’s rise brings another question into everyone’s mind and that is, will he face a downfall too? Before Kai, there were many other famous streamers on the platform like Shroud and Ludwig, who saw a downfall in viewership after joining the 200,000 subscribers club. So will Kai Cenat also see a similar fate and if he does, what could be the possible reasons for that? As there are multiple factors contributing to the downfall.

What can lead Kai Cenat to a downfall?

One of the primary reasons for Kai’s downfall would be his and his audience’s growing age. The YouTube streamer Ludwig has achieved great heights like hosting a successful 31-day-long subathon. But he no longer has that viewership that he once did when his streams blew up. He talked about ‘falling off’ in an interview with Anthony Padilla.

The 27-year-old streamer revealed he might continue streaming as a 40-year-old, but the young audience would want someone near their age. Further, the audience who currently follows him would get old too, and they might get busy with their lives. It is an inevitable truth in every streamer and content creator’s career.

Another thing that can affect Kai Cenat’s growth is joining another platform. Many big-name streamers have switched platforms because of lucrative contracts or other reasons. But the transitions haven’t been that successful, as it is a tough job to shift a whole fandom from one platform to another. Like Ninja’s move to Mixer was a huge blow to his streaming career, which was possibly at its peak.

Another possible reason could be Cenat getting exhausted and wanting to spend time with family. This has been another common reason for many streamers and creators’ career trajectories to go down.

We already saw it with the PewDiwPie, who was once hailed as the ‘YouTube King’. But he lost the title when he stopped being frequent on YouTube and became more focused on his family. While this sacrifice is definitely worth it, as he is a happy husband and a father, it does contribute as a reason for the drop.
