In the latest trend of influencer-led eSports teams, Twitch megastar xQc also had ‘almost’ joined in. For a long time, there had been rumors about X working on making his own eSports team for Valorant and other games. But with recent revelations, it has become clear that those dreams ended in tragedy.
In a recent stream with Valorant Pros, Yassine “Subroza” and Peter “Governor”, revealed they were signed by xQc for an official eSport team, allegedly named “Turtle Troop”. However, things didn’t go as planned. After the signup, according to the pros, xQc “ghosted” his team. Now, xQc shares his part of the story on his channel.

In all these years as an online content creator, X had been mixed in a lot of controversies. Among many, he has a reputation for backing away from various commitments. Even in last year’s Chess Boxing event by Ludwig, xQc was supposed to be present for the final event to face Ludwig for a slapping match.
But he didn’t show up, which led to CDawgVA taking his place and beating Ludwig in SlapChess. That is why he had to face a lot of backlashes when the eSports pro said, “This guy let us on for a month straight…we were never on. We got term sheet signed and everything, but then he backed out like, in the last second, and then just ghosted us.”

How about you give it a chiller like you always do!” said xQc in an immediate response. Coming out as dismissive and shifting the blame toward the players for not knowing what had happened.

But then understanding the fault in his tone. The Juicer calmed his nerves and said, “There was a lot happening and I just kind of got blind sighted and I was embarrassed and, in the end, I understand that I definitely should have communicated more but there are things that I couldn’t say, wouldn’t make sense to explain.”

In the end, X even revealed that he had paid him a full salary as compensation for the time they had lost waiting for him. “I felt so embarrassed for some of the sh*t that I was dealing with that I agreed to pay them a month’s salary,” said xQc. He revealed that he had paid a big amount of $25k as salaries for the pros, which is on par with some of the “good teams” in the eSports circle, according to xQc.
