Charles Leclerc’s performances on the track this season have been nothing short of incredible. He is one of the star drivers on the grid and is touted to be the next World Champion. However, off the track, he encountered a dangerous incident on Monday ahead of the Imola Grand Prix.

Watch company Richard Mille’s and Ferrari’s partnership is one of the most lucrative deals in Formula 1. One of the most recent products out of this collaboration is Charles Leclerc’s very own watch, a piece designed specifically for the Monegasque racer. Unfortunately, the luxurious watch was stolen in the Tuscan city of Viareggio when Leclerc was signing autographs for the fans.

The fans are glad Leclerc came out of the situation unharmed. Ahead of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, he revealed the experience he went through. Despite coming out of a tough situation, Leclerc was upbeat.

Charles Leclerc has started the season in a blistering fashion. Two wins out of the first three races mean Leclerc is currently on top of the driver’s standings with 71 points. He is already 34 points ahead of second-placed George Russell ahead of the fourth round in Imola.

However, he was on the headlines off the track as a group of thieves robbed his watch. Speaking on the incident, Leclerc hysterically said, “So far it has been a positive year, apart from Easter Monday, where instead of looking for Easter eggs, I looked for a watch.”

The personalized watch is owned by Leclerc and it costs $320,000 according to reports. The watch termed RM 67-02 was in an auction back in 2021 and ultimately purchased for an incredible $2.3 million. On Easter Monday, it was unfortunately stolen from Leclerc.

It is certainly not an ideal start to the race week for the Monegasque. He also mentioned the thieves came in organized before taking away the watch from him. “Unfortunately, they did a good job. They were organized and quick. Unfortunately, it went like this,” he added.

We certainly hope this incident does not affect Leclerc during the race.
