Daniel Ricciardo is still riding high from his success at the Italian Grand Prix. The McLaren driver won his first race of the season and also the first race for the team in over eight years. He has improved in the second half of the season and put in some noticeable performances.
In a recent interview, he mentioned his goals for next year. He stated he hopes to get a podium in his home race in Melbourne at the start of the 2022 season.

As reported by ManOfMany, with just seven races to go in the 2021 season, Ricciardo is looking forward to starting his 2022 campaign. It is likely that the first race of the season will be in Australia and the home hero has set his sights on it too.
“What have I got in store? F***. A good result. A good result in Melbourne. It’s been overdue,” said Ricciardo on his goal for 2022.

“I think 2018 was my last good result there. I finished fourth, knocking on the door of a podium. But that aside, I just can’t wait to get back and race in front of a home crowd. It’s a privilege,” said the McLaren driver.

Daniel Ricciardo joined McLaren from Renault at the beginning of the 2021 season. Although they both were on par with each other last year, they both have different cars and different working environments, so transition is expected to be a bit difficult. Ricciardo revealed how he has adapted to the team at the beginning of their partnership.

“You’re getting thrown into a whole new environment, new people, so you’ve got to try to quickly build very strong relationships. “You’re trying to not only learn the new car but also figure out how to drive it fast.
That is the biggest challenge, and that win confirmed that I found it,” concluded Daniel.

His recent results have reflected his improvements in the car and also it seems that finally, he has gelled with the team. But he would look to have a better start of the season in 2022 going into his home race.
