Patience in the Formula 1 paddock is a rare commodity. Even more so when it comes to their drivers. The grid is only made up of 20 drivers, naturally, the pressure is very high to perform. That being said, things are made more difficult as the driver market knows no mercy. For F1 rookie Nyck de Vries, reality may have been catching up to him quicker than he was expecting. After an astounding 2022 Italian GP performance, he earned himself a seat at AlphaTauri, but the time to impress Red Bull is running out for the Dutch driver.

Just a while back, the entire F1 community was up in arms against the Red Bull hierarchy. Rumor had it that Daniel Ricciardo would be the no. 1 priority for Red Bull if de Vries was to be shown the exit door at its sister team. But there seems to be a change in the agenda. And it has apparently melted the stance of the fans.

As soon as it was revealed that ex-F2 prodigy, Liam Lawson was being considered for the AlphaTauri seat alongside Yuki Tsunoda, the fans started whistling a different tune! As it turns out, in the case of de Vries, the fans aren’t too fussed about sacrificing him or Ricciardo for the young Kiwi.

Before this revelation, it was Ricciardo who was favorite to take over de Vries. This rumor was fueled by the Australian travelling to Faenza for a seat-fit. This somehow didn’t go down too well with the fans. But as soon as Lawson was thrown into the mix, de Vries and the Honey Badger were promptly thrown under the bus by eager F1 fans.
