In an alternate universe, Lewis Hamilton would’ve been an eight-time Formula 1 world champion. After amassing a record-equaling 7 world titles at the end of the 2020 F1 season, Hamilton fought tooth and nail with the eventual winner of the 2021 championship, Max Verstappen. That being said, the way the 38-year-old battled the whole year with the Dutch lion and the controversial circumstances in which he lost his 8th title on the last lap of the Abu Dhabi GP has left a sour taste in the mouths of his fans.

Naturally, every time Hamilton’s career achievements are brought up, his loyal fanbase always jumps to point out the flawed reality. It’s been nearly two years now, since that fateful night in Abu Dhabi. However, the wounds are still fresh as ever for the LH Army. Recently, as Hamilton took to his Instagram to delve into the nostalgia of his early racing career, fans reacted by showering him with adulation with a pinch of remorse.
