Sebastian Vettel has suffered a miserable season this year with Ferrari so far. The German is yet to showcase a decent performance this season as the end of his tenure with the Prancing Stallion inches closer.
A former World Champion, Sir Jackie Stewart, expressed his views on Vettel’s future and felt that he should retire and become an ambassador.
Stewart declared that Vettel has enjoyed an excellent career in Formula 1. “Sebastian Vettel is a very nice gentleman,” he said. “He has had a wonderful career.

“And I personally would love to see him retiring and do what I do. He would be a great international ambassador for this aport apart from anything else.”
However, retirement doesn’t seem like an option for the 4-time World Champion, not as of now at least. He looks hungrier than ever since his signing with Racing Point for 2021.
He could be a great asset to the team, considering their focus is entirely on topping the constructors’ table in the future. Vettel, who is yet to find his mojo with the Ferrari, will most likely find his way back to glory with Aston Martin/Racing Point.
Stewart doubles down on why Sebastian Vettel wants to continue
Stewart felt that the reason why Vettel is staying in Formula 1 despite his downfall is that he enjoys racing. “But if he wants to continue racing, it’s because he loves the sport,” he said.

“But for whatever reason, this year has been a disaster for them. And I hope and pray that next year we can see Ferrari where it really should be,” the former F1 driver said.
Ferrari recently revealed that they have found consolidation between their factory work and their result on track. Despite such positives from the team, Vettel still finished the race outside of the Top-10 at Nurburgring while his teammate came home in P7.

As of now, Ferrari are getting results only from one of their drivers; however, the team needs points from Vettel’s end as well, considering the fact that the margins are extremely small between the mid-field teams.
