The limelight was on the king of street circuits, Sergio Perez, who stepped in to give Milton Keynes a much-deserved victory. He proved that he is not a sidekick material as he has always stood his ground against Max Verstappen and the ” tough environment at Red Bull”

In the F1 Nation’s podcast, Hill answering if Checo can or should hold off Verstappen, said, “I think he has got a better chance than anyone we have seen. Max has destroyed everyone who has come alongside him. But Checo has proved to be a bit more feisty. A little bit more resilient to the tough environment at Red Bull and prepared to keep smiling but still fighting for what he is there to do. He does have a right to compete for the world title. He has a duty to himself.”

While Red Bull claimed 17 of 22 races in 2022, only two were by the Mexican. Probably after what happened at the Brazilian GP, the man has amped himself for the 2023 season campaign. And F1 Pundits have noticed that Checo has jumped on the bandwagon to do his best.

Hill said, “There is so much invested in Max as a person who will ensure that this team can compete for championships for a very, very, very long time that you naturally think that the attention will be on Max and less on Checo.” Contrarily, he also added, “But Checo jumped on the bandwagon. He showed he can’t be pushed around, and he won’t let himself be portrayed as the weakest link.”
