Spain’s home hero Fernando Alonso jumped several places as he finally finished in points at the Spanish Grand Prix. After a few tough results despite incredible effort, Alonso and Alpine F1’s double points finish was a good end result.
Qualifying was a nightmare for the Spaniard as he was out in Q1. A queue of traffic marred the 40-year-old’s out lap as he couldn’t make the cut to Q2.
After starting at the back of the grid, Alonso had his work cut out for him. The Alpine driver made a tremendous drive in a race that was already beginning to turn tricky. By lap 7, Alonso muscled his way past the likes of Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo and Williams. He was already P13 and managed to escape any problems at all.
