The present Alpine driver looked all set to renew his contract with the team and continue to help develop the French constructor. In 2021, the former Racing Point F1 team saw itself rebranded into the Aston Martin. Lawrence Stroll bought the team and since day one, has talked about ambitions to win Grand Prix consistently. The team drafted a 5-year-plan to follow which includes a huge investment in the team’s infrastructure from the Canadian billionaire.

To chase its high ambitions, the team signed Sebastian Vettel in the 2021 season to bring his knowledge to a newly formed constructor. However, the partnership did not pan out, and the veteran announced his retirement mid-way through the 2022 season.
