It is no news that Ferrari, in the recent past, has provided its drivers with a car that is difficult to drive. After the Michael Schumacher era, the iconic Scuderia Ferrari has only managed to bottle winning positions. While Charles Leclerc is the one who has faced the most difficulties in his 5 years with the team, Carlos Sainz seems to have had enough in 2023.

In 2023, Tifosi was the only fanbase to witness their team taste victory, other than the Red Bull army. And it was Carlos Sainz, who made their dreams come true at the Singapore GP. While capitalizing on Red Bull’s lack of pace, he gave the Maranello outfit their 1st and only win of 2023. Yet, in a recent interview with AS, he expressed his displeasure with the difficult-to-drive SF23.

The Spaniard was asked about how much he’d want Ferrari’s 2024 car to change. “A lot,” Sainz exclaimed. “It has been said that it is a car that suits me well, that I like. Honestly, it has given not only me headaches. My partner, Ferrari, is very difficult to understand. I am not enjoying riding it. I have had to adapt to many things and I have had to try many set-ups. I hope that in 2024 it will be more versatile and easier to carry and tune up. May we have a better racing car.” (Translated via Google)

Looks like the Spaniard has had enough of the Scuderia’s infamous inconsistency. While Frederic Vasseur and Co. work to solve their age-old issues, nothing can stop Sainz’s passion for racing in F1.

2023 has been Red Bull’s season and nothing can steal it away from them. Max Verstappen showed the definition of perfection, lighting up circuits across the globe with his racecraft. While giving due credit to the Dutchman, Carlos Sainz has also thrown light on how competitive and exciting F1 can be by highlighting the battle for P2.

Sainz told AS, “Behind Red Bull we have seen a very good example of how beautiful Formula 1 can be. A team like McLaren started last and ends up dominating the zone behind Red Bull, and a team like Ferrari takes poles, fights Red Bull for wins, and in other races is 50 seconds away from victory. That’s the tricky thing about Formula 1 to understand.”
