It’s safe to say that Ferrari’s performance last weekend was a disaster. Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc ended the Styrian Grand Prix with zero points.
If the Tifosi were to have a nightmare, it wouldn’t be far off from what Ferrari have managed to create on the track so far this season.
After a dismal qualifying session at the Styrian Grand Prix, where Sebastian Vettel finished P10 and teammate Charles Leclerc finished P11, things only got worse during the race.

Their disappointing weekend culminated in disastrous fashion as Leclerc crashed into Vettel’s car, rendering them both out of the race within the first few laps.
However, both drivers are keen to put their performances at Spielberg behind them and understandably so.
Ferrari duo of Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc not keen to dwell on Styrian Grand Prix disaster
Both racers were present and spoke to the media on Thursday’s driver press conference. Of the Spielberg crash, Leclerc said, “After the race, I apologized to Seb and the apology was accepted. It’s behind us, I’m focusing on this weekend.”
The 4-time world champion also echoed the Monegasque’s statements. Vettel said, “Yes. I have nothing to add. We always try to avoid collisions, but this happens. We leave it behind.”

However, the loss of any points wasn’t the only disappointing outcome of last weekend’s result. What would have also hurt the Maranello-based outfit is the fact that they didn’t get to try their new upgrades in race conditions.
Ferrari had gone to great lengths to ensure that a new front wing and floor would be available for the Styrian Grand Prix. However, they didn’t get the chance to test the new upgrades owing to the early retirements of both the cars.
That sets them back by one more race. Ideally, they would have wanted to arrive in Hungary knowing if the upgrades made a difference to the SF1000 or not.

However, after the qualifying sessions, Vettel revealed that the car felt much better. But it is hard to justify it since he ended qualifying in P10.
Nevertheless, they wouldn’t want to think about all the missed opportunities. They’d be aiming to do much better at Hungary and for the Tifosi’s sake, we certainly hope so.
