Lewis Hamilton’s ‘Lack of Effort’ will make him struggle against Charles Leclerc: Flavio Briatore

A driver of the caliber of Lewis Hamilton; fans would expect to see him completely whitewash Charles Leclerc in 2025. While the Monegasque has the potential to be a world champion, Ferrari hasn’t given him the machinery to see his dream through. Now, can Hamilton still keep the Maranello team buoyant if 2025 is the same as the last 17 years? Fernando Alonso’s manager, Flavio Briatore, has the answer to the question – one that the 7x champ might not like.
Lewis Hamilton has been through thick and thin with Mercedes. The last 3 years just seem like a blur for the fans of the Silver Arrows. W13, W14, and, W15 – they have been unable to build a single car that could fight for wins. On another side of the paddock, Ferrari has been showing improvements but lack of consistency and reliability plague them. While former Ferrari Engineer Rob Smedley believes that Hamilton can bring the X-Factor to Ferrari, Flavio Briatore contradicts it.
“If he were already at Ferrari today, he would do the same things as Leclerc, who is a fast driver,” Briatore told Radio Rai1, as quoted by formulapassion.it. “The Monegasque is underrated. Hamilton will struggle to stay ahead of him. Drivers like Hamilton don’t put much effort into it if the car isn’t competitive.” [Translated by Google]

Whether Leclerc succeeds in outperforming Hamilton remains to be seen. Nonetheless, the Briton’s Ferrari Move has created waves across the globe. And one thing is for sure–his father, Anthony Hamilton, couldn’t be more proud of his son for it.

It is every parent’s dream to see their children doing the best in their lives, professionally and personally. In the world of F1, a 7 time World Champion is as good as it gets (unless he brings in the 8th with Ferrari). While Anthony Hamilton took his time to address his son’s Ferrari move, when he did, his pride in Lewis shone through.
“Part of my dream, part of his dream,” said Mr. Anthony while addressing Lewis’ Ferrari announcement. “It’s one of those things; when you’re a young kid, you always dream of racing for Ferrari.” “We love all of the past teams, McLaren and Mercedes but it’s the ultimate dream to be in a red car.”
