Ferrari’s Misery Continues as Sebastian Vettel Sits Out FP1 for the British Grand Prix

It has not been a good start to the race weekend for Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel. It has been confirmed that the German will not take any part in the first Free Practice session on Friday.
It seems like Vettel, whose performances have been subpar of late, does not have luck on his side this season.
With only 10 points from the first three races, Vettel would have been hoping to start the race weekend on a much brighter note. Alas, that won’t be the case.

The 4-time World Champion will have to wait until Free Practice 2, to hit the track with his SF1000. According to reports, the reason for his FP1 flop is a problem with the intercooler of the car.
Ferrari to strip down the SF1000 of Sebastian Vettel to diagnose the problem
According to Autosport’s, Luke Smith, “Vettel ruled out for the rest of FP1, Ferrari saying: We have detected something wrong with the intercooler system on Seb’s car so we have to strip the car down and check, to be ready for FP2.”
One has really got to feel for Vettel. The German just hasn’t had any good luck so far. He got taken out by teammate Charles Leclerc in Styria, and now this.

Luckily though, he’ll be ready for FP2, where he’ll be able to determine and estimate where he stands in terms of pace.

He certainly won’t be too close to Mercedes. But he’ll take solace in the fact that he is the only driver to have beaten Lewis Hamilton as Silverstone in the last 6 years.
Although you’d say that records don’t count for much, in the absence of any fans it could very well bolster Seb’s morale booster. Especially considering how tough Vettel’s year has been, he’ll take just about any boost he can get his hands on.
After only managing a solitary point in Austria, Vettel’s performance in Hungary was cause for some cheer. Can the 4-time World Champion replicate or improve his showing at the Hungaroring?
