“F**king Disaster” – Carlos Sainz Distraught After Recording Worst Ferrari F1 Qualifying of the Season

Melbourne welcomes the return of the Australian GP as the fans are awaiting the racing action on Sunday. Saturday’s qualifying session saw both the Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes, McLaren, and Alpine take the top 10 spots. With fresh changes introduced, the Albert Park circuit has plenty of challenging twists and turns and, as always, an eye-catching backdrop.


Charles Leclerc secured the pole position, followed by Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. However, Leclerc’s teammate Carlos Sainz finished P9 much to the surprise of F1 fans around the world. Things were not smooth for the smooth operator today, but he will look to bounce back on Sunday.

Fernando Alonso’s crash into the barriers in Q3 meant that Sainz was interrupted during his lap. The Spaniard was on par with his teammate during the lap, but unfortunately, he missed out as red flags were waved.

And on his final run in Q3, the pressure got to him as he made mistakes towards the corner. The former McLaren driver finished miles off his teammate and it will frustrate him, without a doubt. The Spaniard had two solid races, finishing on the podium, but he will need a miracle to finish on the podium this time around. It visibly left him with discontent as he bemoaned on the radio after his P9 finish.

On the radio, he said, “F**king disaster. F**king disaster.”

In the post-qualifying interview, he revealed his dissatisfaction after a poor qualifying. The 27-year-old stated, “Disaster. Everything that could go wrong did. I will be angry until I go to bed tonight,” as he will look to reflect on the incident and recharge his battery ahead of the race on Sunday.
