Fernando Alonso’s crash into the barriers in Q3 meant that Sainz was interrupted during his lap. The Spaniard was on par with his teammate during the lap, but unfortunately, he missed out as red flags were waved.
And on his final run in Q3, the pressure got to him as he made mistakes towards the corner. The former McLaren driver finished miles off his teammate and it will frustrate him, without a doubt.
