“I Never Get Presents” – Max Verstappen Takes a Savage Dig at FIA After Qatar GP
Red Bull and Max Verstappen headed into Qatar with a big problem to solve- the pace of Mercedes. The pace from Brazil was again apparent in the practice sessions and qualifying as Lewis Hamilton took the pole ahead of his rival. But then, things got from bad to worse for Max Verstappen.
The championship leader was given a five-place grid penalty ahead of the race. This meant he had to start his race from P7.
Although Verstappen quickly nullified any effect of the penalty by climbing up the grid in the opening laps. The Dutchman finished second, far behind Hamilton, but it could’ve been different if not for the penalty.
