“I Think That’s Too Far..” -Lando Norris Points Out Faulty Daniel Ricciardo Narrative in F1 Drive to Survive

The newest season of Drive to Survive is out. The fourth installment of the popular Netflix title has had viewers once again glued to the screens. The show has done wonders for F1 and is a brilliant watch. However, every story has 2 sides to it. There have been a few drivers and team principals who have disagreed with Netflix’s side of the story. McLaren’s Lando Norris is the newest addition to the list.

Lando Norris disagrees with Netflix

The latest driver to have a disagreement with Drive to Survive is Lando Norris. There is an episode that focuses on the McLaren duo of Norris and Daniel Ricciardo. The two experienced very contrasting seasons. Lando went on to have a superb season while Daniel mostly struggled with his new team.

Norris was unhappy with Netflix’s portrayal of the two’s dynamic as teammates. He also claims certain clips from the Bahrain GP do not tell the full story. He said, “There’s a bit of me and Daniel going side by side….and I claim he pushes me off, which is from a completely different race,”

Commenting on Netflix’s depiction of individuals, Norris said, “As long as they don’t overdo it… make someone look like they have done something they definitely haven’t, I think that’s too far.”

But the 22-year-old McLaren driver isn’t the only one with such views for the show. Toto Wolff and Max Verstappen have also recently commented on the show’s presentation of certain incidents.

The 2 enter their second season as teammates, and this season brings a whole new era of F1. Riccardo, who did not live up to his hype in parts of 2021, will look for every opportunity to bounce back. He will hope that his experience will help him adjust to the car quickly.

Unfortunately, the Australian has recently tested positive for COVID-19 and had to miss the Bahrain Testing. This means his 2022 start has not exactly gone to plan.

On the other hand, Norris himself would want to continue his stellar 2021 form into the new era. If McLaren has managed to build a car good enough to fight for wins, then Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo are 2 of the best drivers to bring the Legendary team back to its glory days.
